Kansas is a state located in the Midwestern United States and is named after the Kansas River which flows through it. It is one of the most productive agricultural states, producing many crops, and leading the nation in wheat, sorghum and sunflower production most years. Kansas is bordered by Nebraska on the north, Missouri on the east, Oklahoma on the south, and Colorado on the west. Kansas had an estimated population of 2,775,997 in 2007 and is one of the slowest-growing states in the nation. Wichita is the largest city in the state in terms of both land area and population.
